	Double success for Potenza S001 in German tyre tests

		Bridgestone have announced that for the second year running their ultra-high-performance Potenza S001 tyre has won the top rating “very recommendable” in Germany’s Autozeitung magazine tyre test. Results of the 2011 test of 14 leading summer tyre brands on an Audi A3 Sportsback in size 225/45 R17 Y were published at the end of February. Potenza S001 is “very recommendable” concludes Autozeitung. “The sportiest tyre in this test is the Bridgestone; it shows a very high level of grip and is very agile and stable.” Auto Motor Sport magazine came to a similar conclusion in its report published on 9th March 2011. Testing 225/45 R17 Y on a VW Golf GTD, AMS evaluated 11 leading tyre brands on the full range of wet and dry criteria. Potenza S001 is “very recommendable” reports Auto Motor Sport. “Very good driving and braking performance on dry; good driving performance on wet […] . The Bridgestone Potenza shines due to excellent braking and driving behaviour on dry; and also on wet it scores a lot of points due to its easy control up to the limit.” Bridgestone developed the Potenza S001 for the world’s most powerful sports cars. The asymmetric design features stiff ‘high grip’ shoulder blocks, enhanced by a lightweight active insert in the bead area, delivering quick-fire response and remarkable precision. The inner pattern area is tuned for safety with Bridgestone’s premium wet technology, while the lighter belt construction and lower rolling resistance than previous Potenza generations boost fuel efficiency.
