The leading British GT team Trackspeed Racing has said it will fit Avon Tyres to their Porsche 911 GT3 RSR at this year’s Spa 24 hour race which took place on 31 July – 1 August.

This comes after the British GT Championship in June when the fastest lap was by Peter Kox in an Avon–shod Lamborghini Gallardo.

This thrilling event was the first time that Avon could be directly compared with it’s rivals since creating its “cleaner oils” GT tyre for 2010.

The team Manager at Trackspeed, Ricki Martino said “We’ve had a pretty good record with Avon in the past. We did most of the development work in 2005 before Avon became sole supplier to the British GT Cahmpionship. So from the team’s perspective it makes sense to work with a company that is as passionate as we are to get results.”
